The value of donations is set at R175 000 € per year and are valid for a maximum period of 12 months and include all costs of relocation. The Disability Scholarships grants do not benefit and a direction of the exemption shall be requested by the CPU, on behalf of candidates.
Application for renewal for a further year to be considered, but only in competition with new applications. Extensions are not guaranteed

All South Africans and foreign applicants are eligible, but preference is given to applicants who have received doctoral universities will be given other than UCT.
Disability Scholarships Applicants who graduated from UCT at both undergraduate and postgraduate level are not eligible.
Only candidates who are promotion received more than 5 years and are still in academic positions or research are eligible.
There are no restrictions for any discipline or field of research, but applications from other African countries, women and black researchers should be favored. Applicants who have not yet graduated with the PhD degree must provide proof that the PhD thesis has been submitted by no later than 15 September 2011. Such proof must be accompanied by a statement by the supervisor that the degree is likely to be achieved.
The
Disability Scholarships successful candidate will be expected to undertake the agreed research as well as optional but limited teaching duties as part of professional development; however
successful candidates will not be expected to perform any service to the Department of the University of Cape Town in return for the Fellowship.
The URC Postdoctoral Fellowship is considered to be a PRIMARY AWARD and cannot be held in full concurrently with any other award. A maximum of 50% (R87,500) of the value of the award can be held concurrently with any other postdoctoral fellowship(s).
It is crucial that applicants’ research interests and faculty needs are in line with those of the host department.
Successful
Disability Scholarships candidates will be required to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the University of Cape Town, and a Memorandum of Understanding with his/her Principal Investigator.
Successful candidates will be required to comply with the University of Cape Town’s approved policies, procedures and practises for the postdoctoral sector.

The applicant’s full curriculum vitae and a full list of publications. Reports from three referees, which must be submitted in sealed envelopes.
Certified copies of all academic transcripts. Please do not include copies of certificates.
